As is by now tradition, the annual Steam Black Friday or Autumn Sale is upon us. It started on Nov. 24, 2021, and will last until Dec. 1 at 10 AM Pacific Time. This week-long sale will have tens of thousands of games with prices discounted up to 90%. As was the case in previous Steam sales, the best games are getting some hefty discounts.
Besides fishing for the best game deals, Steam will allow its users to vote for the finest games in 2021 in several categories. This time, the Best Of categories will include:
- Game of the Year
- Labor of Love
- Outstanding Visual Style
- Best Game You Suck At
- Outstanding Story Rich Game
- VR Game of the Year
- Better With Friends
- Most Innovative Gameplay
- Best Soundtrack
- Sit Back and Relax
Steam users may nominate games for these awards, play them, and review them to get an Autumn Sale Badge that can be upgraded to level four. Nominations will be available until 10 AM Pacific time on Dec. 1, 2021, while category winners chosen by the Steam community will be revealed on Jan. 3, 2022, at 10 AM Pacific Time. So, sit back in your favorite chair and get voting.
And if you’re waiting for the main event, the two-week-long Steam Winter Sale, it will start in less than a month. That sale will last between Dec. 22, 2021, and Jan. 5, 2022, as the public post from the official Steamworks documentation page showed back in October 2021. Steam Sale dates were traditionally kept under wraps, only to be revealed shortly before the sale commences. This year, all dates for Steam sales have been disclosed in advance, and we can expect Steam Sale dates for 2022 to be revealed soon, too.
