Standard is the default setting, and you probably use it most of the time. When initially aiming, you’ll notice a slight delay when pressing your stick. 

The linear response curve has no delay and will react instantaneously, which is wonderful for quick actions but a little more challenging to control and utilize for precision shots. We favor it because of our aggressive playstyle, and we've gotten used to it enough to pull off some accurate movements, but it still has disadvantages. 

Dynamic is a hybrid of the previous two. It starts with a delay like Standard but becomes more responsive over time. This is a good choice if you want the best of both worlds, but be warned; it will require a bit of getting used to. Most top players also favor this response curve. 

Whether looking for the best controller settings for Warzone on PS5 or PC, you will want to adjust the deadzone to your liking. But first, what is a deadezone?

Deadzone represents the distance a thumbstick must travel before the game registers it as a move. We have set it to 0.05 to eliminate small movements due to controller jerking, but not small enough to have a noticeable delay during actual movement. You should experiment with this to discover what works best for your playstyle, but the general rule is the lower is better.

Disabled: This is for players who have excellent aim and don't require any help. We don't recommend this because even the best controller players in the world use some form of aim assist.

Standard: This is the default option and, as we said, our recommendation. It gives you a little help while still providing almost complete control over your aim.

Precision: This gives you more aim assist than standard but makes it harder to control your spray due to the lower slow down when aiming.

Focused: This has the strongest aim slowdown; therefore, you’ll have more time to line up your aim. This makes it popular with newcomers.

Movement

There isn’t much to be added here; we believe these are the best Warzone controller settings for movement. We recommend holding to slide as it is more precise than tapping, which can be difficult to time right. Also, we don't recommend using auto-move forward as it's unnecessary and often leads to accidental sprinting when you don't want to.

We also recommend disabling automatic sprint and parachute auto-deploy. The former because we like having complete control over when we sprint, and the latter because it’ll allow you to deploy parachutes closer to the ground. If you want to use the auto setting, go ahead, but we find it more hassle than it's worth.

Call of Duty: Warzone - Controller Settings for a Sniper

Despite what PC snobs say, you can be a competent sniper without a keyboard and mouse, but it takes somewhat different controller settings and a bit of practice. We’ll only mention the controller settings we changed to avoid repeating ourselves. Everything we didn’t note, we recommend keeping the same as in the general guide. 

General Options

The reasoning behind the changes is that you will need a lot more precision. After all, you cannot be considered a skilled sniper if you are not accurate. We increased its sensitivity because you'll be following your targets on the horizontal plane most of the time. The aim response curve is set to “Standard” because it provides more precision than “Linear.”

Weapon Options

Everything in this section will remain the same except “Aim Assist.”

• Aim Assist: Precision or Off

Yes, you can be a great sniper without aim assist, but we recommend that you start with precision, and only when you've mastered it, try it without any aim assist. If you are a hardcore player and like to learn the hard way, feel free to turn it off right away.

How To Find the Best Warzone Controller Settings for Your Playstyle

Control schemes in games are a very personal thing. Despite giving our recommendations, we feel that the best way to find out what works for you is to experiment with the different options and see how they feel.

Since there are no longer custom matches in Warzone, the best way to test out controls and see what is best for you is by rounding up some friends and creating a private match. This way, you can take the time to test different settings without worrying about the enemy team.

You could also test these settings out in a live match, especially if all of your friends are busy. If you’re afraid of ruining your statistics, it’s best to stick with private games until you’re more comfortable with the controls.
