The market is absolutely flooded with data retrieval, management, and backup utilities. So we’ve decided to make your life easier with this EaseUS review. Of all the options on the market, EaseUS is one of the best solutions for those seeking a one-stop shop for quality data-security tools.
We can’t wait to tell you all about it.
EaseUS is a Chinese software company founded in 2004, which provides data-backup, disk management, and data recovery software to millions of users across the globe. The crown jewels of EaseUS software products include Data Recovery Wizard, Todo Backup, and Partition Master.
Since these three tools cover a wide variety of common data-related issues, we’ve made them the focus of our review. We’ll be sure to mention some of the company’s other products, especially the ones that work well with these three.
The first thing you notice when you launch the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard is that it’s really fast. As soon as you specify which disk you want to scan for lost data, it starts a quick scan and begins listing files. After it’s done, it automatically switches to advanced scanning.
You can pause the scans at any time or go through the discovered files while the scans are in progress. “Filter” and “Tags” options are at your disposal in case you’re looking for something specific. Before recovering your files, you can preview them to ensure that the data hasn’t been overwritten or damaged beyond repair.
Unlike many other data recovery programs, the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard can locate and restore more than a thousand file types. These include documents, graphics, emails, videos, and audio files. It’s able to recover them even from deleted, hidden, lost, or raw partitions.
EaseUS has versions of Data Recovery Wizard for both macOS and Windows computers - plus mobile versions that we’ll discuss later.
One of the major concerns about data recovery programs is that the decision to recover one file might make others impossible to recover - or, worse, that it might overwrite current versions of files with partially garbled older versions. That’s simply not an issue with Data Recovery Wizard. You don’t need to worry about the software overwriting valuable data while recovering lost information.
This tool isn’t perfect, but it’s quite easy to see why it so frequently finds itself on top of the best data recovery software charts. Although it might not be able to fulfill the boast on easeus.com that it can recover 99.7% of your lost data, in most cases, it will come pretty close.
One disappointment: The free version is limited to 2 GB of recovered files. That’s barely enough to cover anyone’s needs. To get unlimited data recovery, you must upgrade to the Pro or Technician version. These also include benefits like one-on-one remote recovery assistance and multi-user licenses.
In an ideal world, you’d never need a data recovery tool because you could simply restore lost data from a current backup. That’s what EaseUS’s Todo Backup software is for. It lets you backup files, partitions, hard drives, and even your entire system. The program is designed to cater to your specific preferences. You can customize the following:
If all of this seems like more hassle than convenience, you might find the EaseUS Smart Backup feature more to your liking. Smart Backup checks your data every 30 minutes and backs up everything that’s changed. The only problem with this feature is that it’s not available with the free version of Todo Backup. Like system cloning, file exclusion, and event-based backups, it’s available only with a paid license.
All in all, this is a nice program that becomes an excellent one when upgraded. It got bonus points for letting you encrypt your backups and for being available for both Windows and macOS systems.
Managing disk partitions is a daunting task for inexperienced computer users. It’s clear that EaseUS’s developers kept neophytes in mind when creating Partition Master. All the commands are clearly labeled, and you get to preview changes before applying them. The changes you can make include resizing, merging, cloning, deleting, formatting, or wiping your partitions.
We’re happy to report that the free version of the program performs every one of those tasks. What we like most about the paid editions is that they support disks of unlimited capacity and have a wizard for copying your operating system to a new HDD or SSD.
It’s a shame that such a good utility for Windows-based PCs doesn’t have an EaseUS Mac version. In our opinion, this is barely an inconvenience, as EaseUS has shown a high level of dedication to giving all of its users quality software regardless of their platform inclinations. So there could well be a Partition Master for Mac in the near future.
EaseUS’s Data Recovery, Todo Backup, and Partition Master do not require a high level of skill or knowledge. The user interfaces could be a bit sleeker to better complement the tools’ power, but perhaps the designers didn’t want to risk overcomplicating things.
Online EaseUS reviews from customers only serve to confirm our assessment about the company’s efficiency in resolving issues through consultation with the customer support team or a search of the EaseUS website’s technical articles.
Most of these reviews focused on the Data Recovery Wizard, and although we haven’t had any issues with operating it, we can understand why some users find it complicated. A couple of guidelines or a different organization scheme would benefit an absolute beginner’s data recovery experience.
The funny thing is that EaseUS already has a navigation panel similar to what we’re describing. It’s part of the EaseUS MobiSaver app for Android and iOS.
You can even install MobiSaver on your PC or Mac to recover data on your mobile device. The program doesn’t do as much as the Data Recovery Wizard, but its straightforward design is a good example of how data retrieval can be simplified.
Todo Backup and Partition Master are available in Enterprise editions. Like the Data Recovery Wizard Technician package, the Enterprise editions are business solutions. One advantage of the business solutions is that they can help you manage data on servers as well as workstations.
Our EaseUS review would not be complete without a quick look at a few EaseUS products that you might not be familiar with. These products are often sold as part of EaseUS utility bundles:
This transfer tool can help you move your files, applications, and settings from one computer to another. The transfers can be done from PC to PC by installing PCTrans on both of them. Then this EaseUS PC transfer aid simply exports files, applications, and settings from your source to your desired destination. It’s a great time-saver when you’re setting up a new PC or laptop or when you’re configuring PCs for employees.
The Disk Copy utility is very easy to use. You just select the source and target disks, and you’re good to go. If you’re the kind of person who likes a little more control, you’ll appreciate the option that lets you edit the disk layout.
Video Editor is one of the latest additions to the EaseUS repertoire. Its eye-catching design and myriad functions are definitely its main selling points, not to mention its support for a wide variety of file types. The undecided can avail themselves of the EaseUS free trial offer.
Rec Expert is another newcomer. This screen-recording software has a lot more features and options than we are accustomed to seeing in screen recorders. It’s still new, so it hasn’t attracted much of a user base yet.
If you’re an iPhone user, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of MobiMover. This data transfer and management utility is fully compatible with all iOS devices. The most interesting features are its two slightly out-of-place functions – the video downloader and adapter. EaseUS MobiMover can help you download videos and then translate them to a supported format.
EaseUS customer support representatives are quick to respond and will not give up until they’ve solved your problem. The only problem is that paying customers have exclusive rights to professional technical support. You can choose from three contact methods: email, live chat, and phone.
The company says email response times never exceed 20 hours. We’ve never had to wait even half that long. There are separate email addresses for questions about:
EaseUS support is available on live chat from Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. That’s local time in Sichuan, China: UTC + 8. Telephone support is available from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. in the same time zone. Only paying customers get answers to questions related to technical issues.
Before contacting anyone, it’s worth taking a few minutes to see if the information you seek can be found among one of the useful video tutorials on the EaseUS customer support page.
When viewed out of context, some of these prices might seem a bit steep. But given everything we’ve described in this EaseUS review, we believe that most of them are more than justified.
The products are sold according to different license periods. Data Recovery Wizard sells for $69.95 per month or $99.95 per year. Todo Backup costs $29.95 per year. And you can purchase a copy of Partition Master for $39.95.
The free and free trial versions are like shop windows: You can look all you want, but you can’t actually do much aside from admiring the display. That’s not to say that the free versions are useless. They are indeed useful, if only to a very limited extent. The real capabilities of these products are reserved for paying users, and there’s no getting around it.
If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, you’re entitled to an EaseUS refund. Your request for a refund will not be honored if you submit it after the 30 days covered by the guarantee.
No EaseUS software review can cover every single detail. We’ve tried to outline the most relevant topics and information. Our conclusion is that EaseUS has your back when it comes to any kind of data needs. Whether you want to organize it, secure it, or recover it, we recommend that you turn to EaseUs for answers.
The EaseUS programs aren’t perfect - but what is? The key factor of this company’s success is that it continues working on its products, revising and improving them to meet more needs for more users. EaseUS data solutions are miles ahead of equivalent utilities from the company’s competitors, and that’s because EaseUS is never quite done adding the final tweaks.
