      You can control your printer(s) remotely. The MK4S includes an ethernet port and Wi-Fi with NFC setup, allowing you to manage it from anywhere using the secure Prusa Connect system or mobile app. For maximum security, the printer can also operate fully offline.

      Our printers are primarily designed for completely offline operation with no drawbacks or limitations. You have the option to share data with our tech support and connect your printer to the Prusa Connect remote print management system, but only if you choose to do so.       Open design - simple maintenance

      Our machines are built to last. We operate a massive print farm with over 700 of our printers running 24/7. This means we design our machines to withstand non-stop operation with minimal downtime. The open “bed-slinger“ design is the result of a 10-year evolution and enables the easiest access to all parts without a lengthy disassembly process. No welded or glued parts, everything can be taken apart with a set of Allen keys.

      The MK4S has been designed for native offline use, so if you don’t want to use the network services, you don’t have to. The printer can be configured completely without internet access and there are no drawbacks or limitations. The Wi-Fi module can be easily unplugged for environments that require the highest level of security.

            Add-ons

             

            MMU3

            MK4 can be enhanced by an optional add-on that allows your single-extruder printer to print with up to 5 colors (materials) at the same time. Load the five colors of your choice, slice the object in PrusaSlicer, start the print, and let the MMU3 do the rest.

            With all-new plastic parts, reinforced metal parts and firmware built from the ground up, the MMU3 delivers stunning multi-material prints faster and more efficiently than its competitors. With 25-35 seconds per filament change and optimized nozzle cleaning, the prints are beautifully fast and reliable, and you don’t have to worry about cleaning piles of wasted filament scraps from around your printer all the time.

            The MMU3 is up to three times more efficient in managing filament waste compared to other single-nozzle multi-material systems, bringing substantial cost savings.

            The high-flow nozzle in the MK4S allows for much faster printing. However, when using the MMU3, the standard nozzle makes much more sense. Why? While the MMU3 works fine with a high-flow nozzle, the increased volumetric flow results in higher filament waste during printing. In other words, the MMU3 delivers the best performance, the same speed and the highest efficiency (lowest waste) when combined with the standard nozzle in both MK4 and MK4S.

            So, if you order a standalone MMU3 for the MK4S you will receive it along with the standard nozzle. In the MK4S/MMU3 bundle, you will receive both nozzles in the package - the standard one as well as the high-flow nozzle. For assembled MK4S in a bundle with MMU3, the standard nozzle will be pre-installed on the printer as the default.

            Enclosure

            Enclosure

            If you want to print more advanced technical materials on your MK4, you’ll find the Enclosure really handy. It stabilizes the printer environment, eliminates drafts and odors, and makes the printer even more silent.

            An enclosure is not necessary for every type of filament. Most of common materials, such as PLA, PETG, and even some advanced ones (like PCCF) do not require an enclosure. However, once you need to print with more advanced materials, such as ASA, ABS, PC and similar, the Enclosure is the best option to achieve increased temperatures in a stabilized environment, plus, the optional high-performance filtration system will take care of ultra-fine particles.

            The Original Prusa Enclosure is available with a range of useful add-ons, such as the Advanced filtration system with HEPA filter, LED strip, Mechanical Lock or Fire Suppression System.             Consumable parts, such as print sheets (smooth, textured, etc.), are not covered by the warranty since their coatings are expected to deteriorate over time, unless the failure is due to a defect in materials or workmanship. Cosmetic damage, which includes, but is not limited to, scratches, dents, cracks, or other aesthetic damage, is also not covered. Only sheets defective upon delivery are covered by the warranty.

              The savings for the kit versus assembled unit is not worth the money. Only get the kit if you either REALLY like putting things together or want to fully understand how everything is assembled. My only complaint with the MK4S is that if you have an MMU3 installed, then you only have support for the 0.4mm nozzle. If you read forums on this topic, you will see lots of people complaining about this and trying to find workarounds because it is annoying that an upgrade actually sets you back. This doesn't deserve removing a star because the base MK4S printer is what I'm reviewing. That aside, this printer was my first (technically the MK4 was, but I upgraded), and it has been extremely reliable. 99% of time when prints fail, it is because the bed needed to be wiped down with alcohol before the print, i.e., "dirty" bed, or it was due to low quality filament (such as Prusament galaxy black, HP3DF, etc.). The Prusa3D forums have been proven to be quite helpful and Prusa's help files need improvements, but they do a good job of updating for the latest printers and providing lots of photos. I have not needed to contact support because the online help files and forums have gotten me through all my issues. Side note opinion...the most consistent and reliable filament I've used is the Elegoo PETG. I've gone through four rolls of it over the course of a year, and experienced zero failures. I would give second place to the Prusament PETG, which I've had a couple of unexplained print failures over the same timeframe. Interestingly, despite the claim that PLA is the "most forgiving," my experience is that PLAs are finicky across the board with temperature settings and surface their printed on. I've seen inconsistency with all brands of PLAs, e.g., Prusament, MatterHackers, HP3DF, etc., on smooth, textured and satin surfaces.

              MK4S+MMU3+Enclosure kit If I were an expert, I would probably rate your printer with different content, but the simple fly swatter and occasional 3D printer knows very little for now. Meticulously made packaging, clear and logical instructions, loads of perfectly cut fasteners, fitting parts and pieces, and even if sometimes it was not sure which box contained which bag, still nothing was missing. I missed the transport handles for the enclosure a little bit, but otherwise everything was fine. Now it's a member of the family and after my mistake it proved to be a keeper as well, and that it won't get buried even by an attack from a mole. So I am another, very satisfied owner. Joseph and others have a great appreciation...
